Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between fully custom/bespoke skis and ready-to-ride models?
Our bespoke skis are ideal for skiers who place the highest value on individuality, feel, and fit. A bespoke ski is particularly suitable for those who want a model specifically tailored to their height, weight, and skiing style, or who have physical limitations.
Certain conditions (e.g., knee problems, back pain) may place special demands on the material and construction. Haiden Bespoke skis are also the right choice for anyone seeking a truly unique product – both functionally and aesthetically.
Who are fully custom/bespoke skis suitable for?
At Haiden Ski, we distinguish between two categories:
- Fully Custom / Bespoke Skis: These models are manufactured entirely according to your personal specifications. You can individually determine the construction, material combination, design, and skiing characteristics. Production is exclusively made to order and typically takes about six weeks.
- Ready-to-Ride Skis: Pre-produced models, handcrafted in Austria. These skis are individually customized to your specifications (model selection, ski length, boot sole length) through binding choice and mounting.
Can I test the skis before buying them?
Yes, you can test Haiden skis before buying. We offer the option to rent a test pair and then adjust your order based on your experience.
The compensation per pair of skis is:
1 day – €40
2 days – €80
3 days – €100
4 days – €120
From the 5th day (and every subsequent day) – €70
Delivery will take place after payment has been received (either in person or by mail).
The skis must be returned to us no later than three working days after the end of the agreed test period. The user is liable for any damage beyond normal wear and tear. The bindings will be pre-mounted according to your specified boot sole length; however, a check by an authorized dealer is absolutely necessary before use. The test fee will be credited towards a subsequent purchase.
Can I put my own design on the skis?
Yes. With our fully custom/bespoke skis, you have the opportunity to create your own design – from graphic surface patterns and sidewall colors to individual logos. We also offer collaborations with artists in our 'Artist Series'. Further information can be found on the *Surfaces & Design* page in the Bespoke Skis section.
How long does it take to produce my bespoke skis?
Production time depends on the extent of customization. It typically takes about six weeks from receipt of order. For complex designs or special material requests, the delivery time may vary slightly. As soon as your skis are finished, you will be notified and receive the shipping details.
What materials do you use?
We use only selected premium materials to optimally balance performance, stability, and damping. These include, among others:
- Wooden cores made of poplar, beech or ash – flexible and robust – felled two days before the full moon on the Scorpio days.
- Reinforcements made of carbon, basalt fiber or titanal.
Natural rubber and cork are used for vibration damping in certain models.
All materials are specifically combined to provide the best possible driving performance for your individual needs.
To meet requirements. Further information can be found on the respective product detail pages.
Where are the skis produced?
Our skis are manufactured entirely in Austria. Production takes place in our factory in Wartmannstetten, Lower Austria, at the foot of the Semmering mountain – handcrafted, precise, and sustainable. Each ski is individually inspected before leaving our premises.
Where do you deliver to?
We ship worldwide. Our main market is in the Alpine region (Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France). Exact shipping costs and delivery times are displayed during the ordering process. Additional customs duties or taxes may apply to international deliveries outside the EU.
Is there a warranty or after-sales service?
We are available to provide you with personal advice and service – for any questions, please contact info@haidenski.at . All Haiden skis are covered by the statutory warranty. This means that if your skis have a defect, you are entitled to repair or replacement. If this is not possible or unreasonable, you have the right to a price reduction or contract cancellation.
What happens if my bespoke skis don't fit me?
Since our bespoke skis are manufactured entirely according to your individual specifications, they are custom-made. Therefore, there is no right of withdrawal or return. However, our experience shows that personally tailoring your skiing style, weight, ability, and equipment leads to a result with which our customers are completely satisfied.
